In a career spanning over 40 years, Andy spent the early years in contracting, and local government engineering before entering private consultancy over twenty years ago.
Andy joined Walker Associates as a Senior Engineer in 1990, became an Associate in 1991, and an equity partner in 1993, transferring to the position of Director in 2003 when the company became incorporated. He stepped down as a Director in 2024 to become a Consultant to the practice and follow on design.
He has been the engineer in charge of numerous projects for a variety of clients up to over £100m in value, including a prestigious new build RC framed headquarters building in Bournemouth, heavy structural refurbishment of RC framed offices in London, new build sports centre and swimming pools, new build RC framed residential buildings up to 25 storeys high, refurbishment and adaptation of historic buildings into residential accommodation, numerous residential, schools and healthcare projects of varying size in all forms of construction.
Andy is a Chartered Structural Engineer, has an Honours Degree in Civil Engineering, and is a member of the Institution of Structural engineers, and a member of the Institute of Directors.
