An unusual challenge was that the site is situated directly over the newly proposed High Speed 2 Rail Link, which is proposed to be in two tunnels directly beneath the buildings. This required us to work closely with the HS2 organisation and geotechnical specialists, enabling us to employ extensive 3D modelling techniques to predict the likely movement caused by the future construction of the rail tunnels, and design the building foundations and superstructure to accommodate these movements.
